I am an English as a Second/New Language (ESL/ENL) teacher who is motivated to help learners study English language in a positive, inclusive, and meaningful way. I am passionate about multiculturalism and bringing elements of American culture into the classroom. Additionally, I believe that students become more engaged through multi-sensory learning experiences, such as watching videos, playing learning games, and creating multimodal projects. A key goal in my teaching is to encourage learners to actively participate by cultivating a learning environment in which students feel valued. In the future, I plan to continue to develop my teaching skills and to create my own curriculum materials.
In Spring 2026, I served as an ESL Instructor through the Community Language Program (CLP) at Teachers College, Columbia University. I taught a semester-long ESL Upper-Intermediate 2 course to a group of highly motivated adult English language learners in New York City. In my course, I utilized the Passages I Textbook by Cambridge University Press. I developed my own course syllabi, lesson plans, and lesson materials following CLP guidelines. Additionally, I designed, administered, and graded a series of assessments based on the course curriculum units, including small talk communication, news stories, technology, and careers. Please feel free to explore samples of my work, including featured lesson plans, lesson materials, and interactive activities.
